The Fazl Ali College (FAC) fraternity organized a farewell program on the 6th of May 2022 at the Conference Hall to bid farewell to one of its senior teaching faculty Dr.  Abhijit Borah on account of his voluntary retirement from government service. Dr. Abhijit Borah appeared NPSC interview in 1994, got appointed and joined Kohima Science on 15th May 1995. While serving under the Higher Education Department, Government of Nagaland he was placed/promoted to Senior Lecturer in the year 2001, as a Reader in 2006, Associate Professor in 2009 and became HoD, Department of Physics w.e.f. 01/02/2021. He did his PhD from IITG in the year 2005.

The farewell program, chaired by Mr. Kevizai Tureng, Asst. Professor (Philosophy) was attended by the teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and representatives from student. The chairperson paid rich tribute to the retiring officer and acknowledged the presence of his lady wife. Dr. Temjenwabang, Principal FAC in his speech shared his memories and experiences of doing research works and working together with Dr. Abhijit Borah. He referred to him as a dedicated colleague, a strong father and a faithful son too. Besides, being a true gentleman who had served tirelessly and with utmost dedication for the development and uplift of the college and the society without expecting anything in return.

Farewell speeches were delivered by Mr. Nukshimoa (HoD Physics Department), Dr. R. Bendangtemjen (FACTA President), FACSU, Dr. Lanurenla (IQAC Coordinator), Mr. P. Tia Mollier (Botany Dept) and Mr. Watitoshi Ao (Maths Dept). Special songs were presented by Ms. Moachila (BA 4th Semester) and Mr. Imkong Jamir (BSc 2nd Semester Physics Honours).

 Dr. Abhijit Borah in his speech acknowledged the college authority for organising the farewell programme and thanked all the speakers for their kind words. He encouraged the faculty members to be role models to the students and to mentor students diligently to leave significant and lasting positive impressions on them. He expressed that his contribution to the college has always been focused on the development and not on what he would gain from it. The program concluded with Ms. I. Narola Imchen (HoD, Chemistry Dept) pronouncing with a special prayer for the retiring officer.
